Caitlin Hogg, Instructor, Enrollment Coordinator, Front Desk Manager

I teach with pride.

Caitlin Hogg is one of those rare Colorado natives. Her love affair with dance began at All the Right Moves Dance Studio in Pine Junction, Colorado. Though she cried through her first month of ballet, her mom's persistence paid off, and Caitlin is so grateful she stuck with it. It was there that she learned tap from a former Broadway actress/dancer, sparking a passion she would carry with her.

At age 11, after moving to Durango, she continued her training at The Dance Center, expanding her skills to include Hip-Hop, Jazz, and Contemporary. She went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from the University of Denver with a BA in Anthropology, where she founded and choreographed for the DU Tappers. Her academic journey continued with a Master's in Museum Studies from the University of Leicester in England.

Caitlin brought her talents to local institutions, working as a Membership Coordinator at the Kirkland Museum of Fine & Decorative Art and as a Learning and Engagement Coordinator at the Denver Botanic Gardens, where she trained tour guides. All the while, she continued to perform tap with Gravity Dance Collective. In 2018, she welcomed her first child—she's now a proud mom of three!—and found a permanent dance home at LCDC in 2019. After dancing with her two oldest children through the DiscoverDance program, she was thrilled to join the faculty. When she's not dancing or adventuring with her family, you can find her searching for authentic British tea experiences, or enjoying the satisfying scent of a brand new book.

A few fun facts....

My favorite food is Mexican.

The TV show/movie I'm obsessed with right now is nothing currently, but I'm anxiously anticipating the new Downton Abbey movie.

My favorite thing about teaching dance has to be seeing a student master a step to the beat of the music.
